Recessed area has to be very smooth as it is a functional surface where the paper slides.

For this kind of curved part and the size is  big , for current protoytpe technology the edge may be not as per requirement 3mm minumum .The edge dimension can be acheived  by sticking the material but with very strict and tight tolerance. The sticking shape is also the point.
